Assessing a Manuscript
Reviewers help editors assess a submission’s scientific quality and relevance. The journal uses independent experts and obtains at least two reviews. The editorial board makes the decision to accept, request changes or decline a manuscript.
Points to Consider
- Do the title, abstract and keywords accurately represent the study?
- Is the research question clear and supported by the cited literature?
- Are the methods sufficiently detailed to assess and reproduce the work?
- Are ethics approval and consent addressed?
- Are the analyses appropriate and the results reported consistently?
- Does the discussion interpret the findings in context and explain limitations?
- Are conclusions supported, and are citations accurate?
